Cancer - a good reason to eat healthy and work out!

When I lived in Germany back in the 80's, I was diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer. My doctor was very matter-of-fact about it and said that if I was planning to have children, I should do it as soon as possible as being pregnant would force my body to reject the cancer to protect the baby. So I took him at his word, got pregnant with my first child and 26 years later, that cervical cancer has not been seen again!

January 2020, my mother passed away from pancreatic cancer. She chose not to do treatment as it wouldn’t cure her, only extend her life a few months and not with any great quality of life. We enjoyed the last few months with her before the disease took her from us. Two years previously she had beaten colon cancer. Makes a person stop and think about what might be hereditary, or not!

Rather than assume the worst, I chose to improve the quality of fuel I gave my body and to workout more often.

Superfoods like sweet potato, beets, kale, spinach and garlic have become staples in my nutrition.

So far, so good. No sign of cervical cancer again this year.
